I have contacted several realtors in my area with pretty good results. I kept all of those little postcards I got FROM realtors as ads or letting me know they had just listed or sold a home in my area and sent them a letter and gift idea sheet as well as how a party would benefit them directly. 

I also went through the phone book and called the office manager from several local offices and requested permission to come in on their meeting day. I went in with a show in a basket-took - large basket full of different gift ideas and products along with some flyers and catalogs. This has resulted in two repeat customers who buy on a regular basis for THEIR business and a few people who just wanted an item or two or to book a home show. 

In NJ, a realtor can only write a $25.00 gift to their customers off, so I tried to concentrate on items in that price range and had them with me. I also wrapped a couple baskets up in cellophane and had them filled with a few things-for a theme gift. 

I will wrap and deliver the baskets locally for free (they buy the fillings) and I include my card and the realtors card. It seems to work well. I also follow the real estate transfers and send many of them a special letter, newsletter and flyer.

My name is [your name] and I am an {Company} Independent Consultant.  We represent America's most beautiful and functional hand wove, hard wood maple baskets - all proudly signed and dated by the weaver.  In addition, our line of {products} and {product lines} are of the utmost quality.

In your business, I know you are always looking for a unique gift item to thank customers and to show appreciation for using your services.  I am sure your customers would appreciate your thoughtfulness in presenting them with a {Company} {product}.  Some gift giving ideas would include:

  • A {product} with the key to their new home

  • A {product} filled with cheese and crackers

  • A {product} with a bottle of wine or champagne
